As Old as the iPod: 20 Years of ACD Direct

Yes, the Y2K was that long ago. Not only was it the era of CDs, rom-com, and awkward fashion, but it was when we started to develop a vision for ACD Direct.

On May 1, 2003, with fears of the Y2K bug well in the rearview mirror, we opened our doors. We started with 5 accounts and 20 staff members – numbers that have since ballooned to 250 and 180, respectively.

In the 20 years since our launch, ACD Direct has listened, engaged, and collaborated with partners to deliver an experience that anticipates their every need. We’re constantly designing and refining contact solutions that maximize fundraising efforts, business processes, and performance. Relationships are at the heart of what we do, and we work tirelessly to maximize the power of each connection.

Here are some of our favorite memories of the past 20 years – let us know which ones you remember!

ACD Through the Years

May 1, 2003: Noah Rosales founds ACD Direct to provide innovative virtual contact center solutions – a unique offer in the pre-remote work era!

June 2003: We complete our first PBS June campaign, marking our arrival in the professional call center services market.

December 2003: We run our first holiday campaign, handling the high call volume period like the pros we are.

June 2007: We officially become PCI Compliant – your credit card data is safe with us!

May 1, 2008: ACD Direct celebrates 5 years of growth and innovation!

October 2010: We announce a great new premium database called PODS Flex.

January 2011: We launch our game-changing scripting platform called “Simple Pledge,” featuring a sleek UI plus scripting flexibility and customization!

May 1, 2011: We integrate our “On-Task” tool so that you can manage client requests, gift/premium processing, and show/break schedules.

February 2012: We migrate over from the Intelliqueue Telephony platform to industry leader NICE inContact.

May 1, 2013: We celebrate a decade in business!

August 2015: We’re now SOC Compliant – a security win!

April 1, 2016: We launch our ever-popular “ACD Essentials” program.

May 1, 2018: It’s our 15th anniversary!

September 2019: We now offer SMS Conversational Texting as a service – a popular decision!

March 3, 2020: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ACD Direct steps forward in support of remote work.

January 12, 2021: Our new & improved “Simple Script” scripting platform launches to serious fanfare. (Thank you for the nudge, Adobe Flash!)

March 2021: ACD joins the HIPAA-compliant club. Your medical data is safe with us!

June 2021: We partner with AI-based customer interaction tool, Observe.ai, cementing our commitment to quality and technological advancement.

October 2021: We release PledgeCart 3.0 – a game-changing upgrade!

March 2023: ACD officially rolls out the newest version of PledgeCart now called SimpleDonate.

May 2023: ACD Direct proudly commemorates 20 years in service – and looks forward to many more!
